The role
The Procurement Operations Analyst plays a crucial role in supporting the Procurement team by providing data-driven insights into spend, supplier performance, buying behaviours, and compliance trends. This role is responsible for managing procurement data, ensuring its integrity, and leveraging analytics to optimize procurement strategies. The analyst will also act as a bridge between Procurement, the IFS and Business Intelligence (BI) teams, and key stakeholders, ensuring alignment on information reporting and data analytics.
As an Procurement Operations Analyst at IPL you will:
- Procurement Data Analytics & Insights - Collate, analyse, and interpret procurement spend data to identify trends, cost-saving opportunities, and supplier performance insights. Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track procurement cost savings, compliance reporting and procurement performance metric.
- Spend Analysis & Reporting - Conduct spend segmentation and category analysis, identifying opportunities for consolidation and efficiency improvements. Provide detailed spend visibility reporting to business stakeholders and Procurement, ensuring accurate and timely decision-making.
- Data Management & Integrity - Ensure procurement data accuracy and consistency across all ERP and BI platforms. Engage with IFS and Procurement teams to cleanse, validate, and structure procurement data for effective analytics.
- IFS & Business Intelligence (BI) System Interface - Collaborate with the IFS and BI teams to ensure procurement data flows seamlessly across technology platforms and the P2P process. Support system enhancements, testing, and data integration projects.
- Compliance & Policy Adherence - Monitor P2P compliance and identify areas for escalation. Track supplier performance and contract compliance, ensuring adherence to agreed terms and conditions and service levels.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration - Work closely with the Procurement and Supply Chain team, Finance, IFS, BI teams to deliver data-driven insights. Provide regular reporting Procurement leadership and stakeholders to support strategic decision-making.
- Supplier Performance & Risk Analysis - Analyse supplier data and KPIs, identifying high-risk suppliers and areas for performance improvement. Support vendor rationalization and risk mitigation strategies.
- Process Automation & Continuous Improvement - Identify opportunities to automate data collection, reporting, and procurement processes to drive operational efficiencies and support the implementation of digital procurement such as RPA and AI-driven solution.
- Market & Industry Benchmarking - Conduct research and benchmarking on procurement best practices, industry trends, and cost-saving opportunities. Support Procurement leadership with insights into market dynamics.
- Ad Hoc Analysis & Special Projects - Support special projects and strategic sourcing initiatives with data-driven recommendations. Assist in the development of forecasting models for procurement demand planning.
What you will bring to the role:
Willingness to travel as required.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business Analytics, Finance, or a related field.
- Strong proficiency in data analytics tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar).
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, macros, formulas).
- Experience working with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Coupa, IFS etc.).
- Knowledge of SQL or Python for data analytics is a plus.
- Strong understanding of spend analysis, supplier performance metrics, and procurement KPIs.
- Experience with compliance tracking, contract management, and procurement reporting.
- Analytical mindset with a problem-solving approach coupled with effective communication.
- Strong communication skills to engage with stakeholders, finance teams, and IT partners.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Proficiency in comprehending operational processes, customer needs, and product technicalities.
- Knowledge of sustainability practices
- Familiarity with lean methodologies could be advantageous.
