The role
This role requires you to reside close to the St. Damien or Edmundston facilities for a hybrid work status.
As an Encoder at IPL, you will be responsible for managing the data input process into our ERP system (IFS), ensuring consistency, quality, and adherence to IPL's data and encoding policies. You will collaborate closely with multiple teams to troubleshoot technical issues and maintain encoding standards. In addition to data input, your role will involve cleansing existing data, suggesting process improvements, and maintaining the integrity and consistency of our item data. This contributes directly to the efficiency of our supply chain, customer satisfaction, and overall business success. This position requires attention to detail, manufacturing acumen, and the ability to collaborate across multiple functions.
As an Encoder at IPL you will:
- Oversee the encoding process for various data formats within IFS.
- Maintain encoding standards and quality control procedures in adherence with IPL’s policies.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to encoding within IFS.
- Monitor and report on encoding progress and associated metrics.
- Collaborate with technical teams to implement new encoding technologies and workflows within IFS.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
- Accurately set up items, routings, BOMs, customers, suppliers and other IFS inputs as required
- Verify and validate item information to ensure accuracy and completeness in line with data governance policies.
- Ensure consistency and standardization of item codes, descriptions, and other relevant data across IFS
- Conduct regular audits and quality checks to identify and correct discrepancies in item data.
- Provide support to internal teams and external partners regarding item-related inquiries.
- Actively participate in the evaluation of existing item set-up processes and identify opportunities for improvement and optimization.
What you will bring to the role:
- Certification in ERP systems, IFS, or related technologies is a plus
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field will be an advantage
- High proficiency level in Microsoft Excel required.
- Proficiency in SQL or equivalent for data extraction, manipulation, and reporting is an advantage
- Familiarity with data management processes and manufacturing systems is a plus.
- Proven track record of meeting deadlines.
