The role
Finance and Reporting Manager Continental Europe is a senior finance role engaged in the oversight of the financial control and reporting processes within the organization. This role plays a critical role in ensuring the company's financial health and growth. In this role, you will collaborate closely with various departments to align financial goals with business objectives.
- Performance Management: Monitor and evaluate financial performance against budgets and forecasts. Develop and implement performance metrics and KPIs.
- Reporting: Prepare and present comprehensive financial reports to the Group Finance team, and other stakeholders.
- Risk Management: Identify financial risks and develop mitigation strategies. Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor the team under management, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other finance and functional departments (e.g., tax, treasury, FP&A, operations, sales, marketing etc) to ensure financial alignment and support strategic initiatives.
- Systems and Tools: Oversee the implementation and optimization of financial systems and tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Financial Accounting and Reporting
- Manage the preparation and consolidation (in the interim) of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for the Continental European Business.
- Engage proactively with Group finance and the Continental Europe finance managers on the transition of group reporting from Hyperion to Solver
- Ensure compliance with local and international accounting standards.
- Analyse financial data and provide actionable insights to senior leadership
- Lead the financial budgeting and forecasting processes for non-trading Continental European legal entities and other IPL Schoeller Group companies as and when requested.
- Supervise and mentor a team of Accounting Business Partners (in the interim), and other teams as requested.
- Complete Schoeller Netherlands consolidated financial statements and liaise with the auditors on same.
- Provide Dutch fiscal unity consolidated financial information and liaise with Group tax to facilitate completion of appropriate tax returns.
- Complete Dutch Central Bureau of Statics reporting.
- Support with the coordination of external audits and ensure timely completion of audit requirements.
- Develop and implement financial reporting processes to improve accuracy and efficiency and support with the implementation of technologies to drive enhanced reporting accuracy and efficiency.
- You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including accounting, operations, and Group Finance Leadership in Dublin, to develop timely and accurate financial reports that comply with regulatory standards and align with strategic business Objectives.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA or CPA preferred.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in financial reporting and control, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proficiency in financial modelling and analysis. Advanced knowledge of financial software and ERP systems.
- Proven track record of leading and developing high-performing teams. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to interpret complex financial data and provide strategic recommendations.
- Deep understanding of business operations and the ability to align financial strategies with organizational goals.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- High ethical standards and commitment to transparency and accountability
- Ability to travel
- Fluent English speaker.
